Widow's Jubilee Fundraiser for African Widows Housing

This is some of the ceremony that took place in celebration for all of the money that the prayer ministry widows raised for widow's housing in Miwani, Kenya, the headquarters for Widows Harvest Africa. Their goal was to raise $1000 in order to build a single house for a widow. A little more money came in after this celebration making the total $3700.00. The rest of the money went to build 2 houses that are now being used for temporary housing for widows.. It is not uncommon for a woman, in many cultures, when her husband dies his family comes and takes everything away from the wife. This new widow will find herself completely homeless and she will generally have no recourse of action available to her to get her property back. These new houses are being used to house 2 widows who have recently been threatened by their inlaws and forced out of their own houses.
